The Cult of Otis Rockin’ Mew Year’s Eve!

Disciples of Otis,

Brother Oliver here. Mew Year’s Eve has arrived and all of us kitties are having a party. 2013 was a rough year, and frankly we are glad to see it coming to an end. We are welcoming the New Year with a boisterous show of optimism by dancing our furry little buns off all day and all night long. It’s still early here, but Brother Henry and I have already been at it for hours!

Even Thomas is getting in on the merriment, although he insists that Brother Henry and I clear the dance floor when he feels the urge to boogie. That kid can really kick up his heels!

As it gets closer to midnight, we’re going to break out the catnip and really get this party started! Have a great Mew Year’s Eve, everyone!

Happy Mew Year! Thanks for a Great 2012!

My Disciples,

2012 was a year of laughter, tears, tribulations and triumphs here at The Blog of Otis. Thinking back on it all, it’s really kind of incredible how much has happened, and how much has changed in just 365 days. The most striking change though is Thomas. Who knew we would end the year with a fourth member of the Inner Circle!

I sure didn’t see this little guy coming, but I’m very glad he is here.

The WordPress.com stats helper kitties have prepared a 2012 annual report for The Blog of Otis. If you would like to see   how many times we were viewed, which posts were the most popular, who made the most comments (Spoiler alert- it’s a mouse!), and more, check out the complete report.

One thing that is not mentioned in the report is that 51 of you chipped in more than $1,750 to help the Guardians pay off My Hipsterectomy surgery. I am both amazed and humbled by that, and I cannot thank you enough.

And thanks so much to everyone who supported Me before, during and after My surgery whether you donated, sent healing thoughts and purrs, or just plain wished Me well. You have all helped make the ordeal much easier to endure.

I also want to give a special thank you to The Brothers for doing everything in their power to keep Me safe from an attack by the Long-feared Dog Uprising while I am recovering. They have been simply incredible.

Oliver, Otis, Henry

I may be vulnerable right now, but you’re going to have to get through these two to get to Me!

So again, thank you, My Disciples, for a great 2012. I hope you have a very happy Mew Year, and that you will come along with us in 2013 as we continue to do our best to spread The Good Word about keeping kitties happy, healthy, and safely confined.

Happy Mew Year Everybod…WOAH! WHAT WAS THAT!?

My Disciples,

On behalf of The Brothers, The Guardians of Otis and Myself, I would like to wish you a very happy Mew Year.  We’re all a bit frazzled around here today though.  Last night at midnight the neighborhood was suddenly filled with shouts and explosions, and The Brothers and I have been a bit on edge ever since.  The title of this post is a direct quote from Brother Henry just as the clock struck midnight and everything seemed to go crazy outside.  Brother Henry took us straight to Defcat 1.  He believed that all of the noise meant that the long-feared dog uprising had begun.  I was skeptical, but still terrified by all of the noise.

Otis a bit frazzled.

Last night was crazy, but at least it was not the start of the long-feared dog uprising.

The Guardians eventually got us all calmed down, convincing us that it was humans, not dogs making all that racket outside.  Still I think it will be another day or two before we are completely back to normal.  Why must humans celebrate everything by blowing things up!?

Anyway, Happy Mew Year to you all.  I hope this year brings nothing but joy to humans and kitties everywhere.
