Photo of the Day #16: Sinks are for Sitting

My Disciples,

There seems to be confusion among humans about the purpose of a sink.  Even the Guardians often use sinks for washing their hands or brushing their teeth.  This is wrong.  Sinks are for kitties to sit in.  Why else would they be so perfectly shaped and comfortable?

See. Sinks conform perfectly to the contours of a kitty. They must be for us to sit in.

Photo of the Day #15: The Sacred Belly

My Disciples,

Behold the Sacred Belly of Otis.  To gaze upon it brings good luck.  To rub its fluffy fur makes all of your wishes come true…assuming your wishes are to rub a fluffy kitty belly and possibly be gently mauled in the process.

Behold the Sacred Belly of Otis!

Photo of the Day #14: The Silent Scream

My Disciples,

Sometimes when I think about how many of my feline brothers and sisters are neglected and not kept safe it makes me want to scream!  Of course, whenever I open my mouth to scream the only thing that comes out is a really loud “meow.”  I am a cat after all…

Otis with his mouth wide open as if he is screaming.

Now imagine a really loud scream coming out instead of a meow...

Photo of the Day #13: Eyes of the Leader

My Disciples,

If you could have seen what these eyes saw when I was wandering alone in the wilderness, you would know why you should keep your kitties safely contained.  I am very thankful for the day the Guardians brought me into The Promised Land.

A closeup on the face of Otis.

These eyes saw horrors unimaginable as I wandered alone in a world without safe boundaries.

Photo of the Day #12: Cat Got Your Tongue?

Disciples,

Have you ever had someone ask you if the cat got your tongue?  If they ask again, show them this photo and nod your head to say “yes.”  It’s really My tongue, but they might not be able to tell the difference.

Don't worry, I don't have anyone's tongue but my own.

Photo of the Day #11: The Literary Leader

My Disciples,

If you are a cat guardian, be sure to leave plenty of books lying around.  They are great to lean on.  Hardcovers are especially appreciated.

Books- good for leaning and striking a dramatic pose.

Photo of the Day #10: Unwelcome Interruption

Disciples,

One day while Brother Oliver and I were having a private meeting about how we could address human behavioral issues, the Guardians burst in with their camera.  I was startled, and Brother Oliver was intensely annoyed.  After they left, we decided that the Guardians needed to be punished.  We woke them up at 4 am the next morning pretending we were hungry.

How dare the Guardians interrupt a private feline meeting.

Photo of the Day #9: Meeting of the Brain Trust

Disciples,

In looking through my Cult of Otis archives I discovered a photo from the early days of the movement when Brothers Henry and Oliver and I would meet to discuss our plans.  Brother Henry insisted that I stay close during these meetings so he could defend me from any danger that may have arisen.  Usually though, even though the meetings were supposed to be secret, the only danger was temporary blindness from the Guardians and their blasted camera!

Photo of the Day #8: Prophet on the Mountain

My Disciples,

When I need to escape the day to day challenges of being a cult leader, I often journey to the top of the Sacred Mountain.  There I try to empty my head of the worries and sorrows I carry…or I just sharpen my claws.

Otis rests on the mountain.

I can always find peace on the Sacred Mountain.

Photo of the Day #7: My Mean Face

My Disciples,

I don’t like to do it, but sometimes when I am pushed too far I have to put on my “mean face.”  Trust me, you do NOT want me looking at you with this expression.  Take good care of your kitties and I won’t have to pull this face on you.

Otis puts on his mean face.
