Kitty Power Pose #14: The Muscle Is Back

I thought my Kitty Power photography series was complete with installment #13: The Inspirational Leader, but I saw something yesterday that made me realize I was wrong. It happened while I was searching the house trying to locate Sir Thomas. I wanted to make sure he wasn’t up in Kitty Valhalla so I could sneak up there and see what he is hiding up there.As I entered the living room all thoughts of Kitty Valhalla left my mind as I spotted Brother Henry sitting on top of the Guardian’s folding craft table.  He looked stunning!

You may recall that, in the past year, Brother Henry has been struggling with sores in his mouth. He even had to have most of his teeth removed because of the problem. Even the tooth removal didn’t seem to work, and the Guardian’s took Brother Henry to The Bad Place many more times until he was put on some medications that finally seemed to help.

During the time he was battling the mouth problems, Brother Henry did a lot of hiding under the couch. It was hard to eat so he also lost quite a bit of weight. He went from 17 pounds of Tabby Fury down to about 13 pounds of Timid Tabby. But yesterday, when I saw him sitting on that table with soft sunlight hitting his face, I saw that my old brother had returned. Brother Henry is once again a confident, happy, 17 pounds of Tabby Fury. The Muscle of The Cult of Otis is back, and I just had to add this image to my Kitty Power Pose series. Here it is:

As soon as I snapped the photo, Thomas walked into the room. He said, “Whoa! Looking good Brother H! If the wiener dogs could see you now their comically stubby legs would be shaking uncontrollably!” He then said, “All right, well, I am going to go upstairs to Valhalla and take a… ummm… nap… so please don’t disturb me.” I’m not sure whether or not he heard me swear softly under my breath as he departed.

Kitty Power Pose #13: The Inspirational Leader

Disciples of Otis,

Brother Oliver here. Longtime Disciples will recall my Kitty Power Pose photographic series from a while back. When I got to the 12th image in the series, I thought that maybe it had run its course. Recently though, I have decided that I thought wrong, so I am resuming the series today with photo number 13. In this photo Leader Otis looks confidently into the future toward a time when every kitty is happy, healthy and safely confined. People everywhere have banded together to protect and care for kitties, and every kitty has all the love, enrichment and security he or she could ever hope for. Oh, and they also have all the treats they want. The Leader said that part is very important.

Anyway, I give you Kitty Power Pose #13: The Inspirational Leader.

Kitty Power Pose #12: The Casual Leader

My Disciples,

I was feeling mostly complete with My Kitty Power photo series, and I was considering moving on to My next great artistic endeavor, but then I realized that most of My poses were very serious.  I felt that I hadn’t explored My relaxed and light-hearted side quite enough.  So today I bring you “The Casual Leader”, featuring Me in one of my favorite relaxation spots.

As you can see in the photo, the relaxation spot is window height which means I get a great view of all the crunchy little birds in the trees outside.  It is also equipped with two candles that I can command the Guardians to light if I wish.  The candles really help set the mood when I am trying to meditate on how best to spread the good word about keeping kitties safe.  They are also enclosed in glass lanterns because, being a cat, My curiosity sometimes gets the best of Me.  The candles didn’t always have those protective lanterns.  Fortunately, whiskers grow back.

Anyway, I bring you The Casual Leader.  May it remind you to relax and take it easy once in awhile, but not before you’ve taken care of the kitty.

I have a lot of responsibilities, so sometimes I need to just kick back and relax.

Kitty Power Pose #11: The Strong Brother

My Disciples,

As I mentioned yesterday, I thought it would be fitting to include Brothers Henry and Oliver in My Kitty Power photo series.  Today I bring you Brother Henry’s Contribution, “The Strong Brother.”  Brother Henry is The Muscle of the Cult of Otis and as such he is My greatest protector.  May his strength inspire you all.

Since Brothers Oliver and Henry are such integral parts of the Cult of Otis, I decided that it would be fitting to give them their own poses in My Kitty Power photo series.  Today I bring you “The Wise Brother” featuring Brother Oliver who is The Brains of the Cult of Otis.  May his intelligent face inspire you all.

Kitty Power Pose #9: The Exhausted Leader

My Disciples,

Today I bring you another image from My Kitty Power photo series.  My responsibilities as The Leader of the Cult of Otis are so overwhelming that some days I only have time for six or eight naps.  This is far fewer than the dozen or so a kitty should take.  For that reason I am often overcome with exhaustion.  I asked the Guardians to try to capture that exhaustion in this image.  Just looking at it makes me tired.

Kitty Power Pose #8: The Optimistic Leader

My Disciples,

Today I bring you yet another inspiring image from My “Kitty Power” photo series.  I call this one “The Optimistic Leader” because I am standing still with a look of quiet optimism on My face.  I hope you will think of it as optimism that all kitties everywhere will be well cared for and kept safe from danger at all times.  I must confess though, that this particular look of optimism was aimed at a bowl of ice cream that one of the Guardians was eating.

I am optimistic that kitties everywhere will be well cared for and kept safe...and that the Guardians will give Me a taste of their ice cream.

Kitty Power Pose #7: The Leader That Just Saw a Shiny on the Ceiling

My Disciples,

I know a few weeks ago I said I thought that “The Leader That Just Saw a Shiny on the Ceiling” would not make a very compelling title for one of my Kitty Power photos.  Well, after thinking about it a little bit, and after seeing this photo that the Guardians took of Me when I saw a shiny on the ceiling, I changed My mind.  I decided that maybe it is a little bit inspiring to remind kitties and guardians that, although life can be busy and stressful, they should always take time to stop and notice the shinies on the ceiling.  Oh, and when you look at the shinies, feel free to chatter at them if you feel the urge!

Kitty Power Pose #6: The Whimsical Leader

My Disciples,

Today I bring you the sixth image in my ongoing “Kitty Power” photo series.  I call this one “The Whimsical Leader” because one of the Guardians saw the photo and said I looked whimsical.  To be honest, I have no idea what whimsical means, but since it was used to describe Me in this photo I can only assume that it means “all powerful”, or “awe-inspiring” or something like that.  Anyway, I hope you like it.

Kitty Power Pose #5: The Voice of the Leader

My Disciples,

First of all, I just want to say a big “thank you” to Brother Oliver for filling in for Me yesterday while I had pressing matters to attend to.  Today I am back, and I bring you photo #5 in the Kitty Power series.  I call this one “The Voice of the Leader”, because I was talking to the Guardians when this was taken.  No, I wasn’t speaking English, but through years of intensive work I have trained the Guardians to understand a few simple voice commands spoken in the cat dialect.  In this case, I was demanding that they make shinies on the ceiling for Me.  They complied, and as a treat I allowed them to pet Me.

So Sayeth Otis

I use My most commanding voice to instruct the Guardians. They wisely comply.
