Brother Oliver here.

I realize it has been some time since the last installment in my Whiskered Gallantry photo series. I decided to remedy that this week when we had a break in the rainy weather and the Guardians let us into our Outdoor Domain. When the door opened, Sir Thomas was the first one out, and as he thoroughly assessed the surroundings for any signs of suspicious canine activity, I took a photo without him even being aware that I had done so.

I know I sometimes give Sir T a hard time, but I have to say, when I looked at the image, it took my breath away. Such power! Such confidence! Such vigilance and sense of duty! Leader Otis really knew what He was doing when He made Thomas The Cult’s first knight, and dubbed him “The Heart” of The Cult of Otis.

Brother Oliver’s Self-portrait #3

My Disciples,

Well, it seems that Brother Oliver is ready to reveal the next image in his photographic exploration of himself.  He calls this one, “Purplish Repose”.  I’ll reserve My comments on the image and let you make up your own mind.

And there it is.  I know I said I would reserve My comments, but I will say that just looking at this makes Me want to go and take a nap on something soft and fluffy…so I will!  If anyone needs Me, I shall be in Kitty Valhalla, “reposing” on the Sacred White Cloud of Eternal Comfiness.

Brother Oliver Is Depressed

My Disciples,

Brother Oliver is having a rough time right now.  Two days ago Brother Henry, bursting with excitement, came running up to Brother Oliver.  He said he had been messing around with the camera and wanted to show Brother Oliver a photo that he had taken.  The photo that Brother Henry took can be seen below.

This is the photo that Brother Henry took and then shared with Brother Oliver.

Upon viewing the photo, Brother Oliver gasped and then walked away with his head hung low.  Brother Henry tried to follow him saying he had some important information that he wanted to share but Brother Oliver just ignored him.  He has been moping ever since.  I think he feels like Brother Henry’s photo was so good that now he will never be able to fulfill his dream of becoming the world’s greatest kitty photographer.

Brother Oliver has been moping because he thinks Brother Henry has surpassed him as a photographer.

I must admit, Brother Henry’s image is surprisingly good.  I can really see Mama cat in it, and there are no bars blocking My view of her like in Brother Oliver’s photos.  But I wonder what else Brother Henry wanted to share with Brother Oliver.  I think I shall go seek out Brother H and ask him a few questions.  I think there might be more to this story than meets the eye.

Kitty Close-up #11

My Disciples,

I was going to end My Kitty Close-ups photo series at number ten, but Brother Oliver has been bugging Me for weeks to post one of his photos that he says BELONGS in the Kitty Close-ups Series.  He has been an excellent High Priest and assistant body guard in recent days so I decided that I would grant his wish and post his photo as Kitty Close-up #11.  So, without further ado, here it is…

This is the photo that Brother Oliver has been begging Me to include in "Kitty Close-ups".

So there you have it!  I don’t know if Brother Oliver realizes this or not, but I think he might have just set himself up for a visit to The Bad Place to get his teeth cleaned.  He might be unpleasantly surprised once the Guardians see this!

Kitty Close-up #10

My Disciples,

Today I bring you another image in My Kitty Close-ups photo series.  This one shows one of My razor sharp kitty claws…hmmmm…now that I look at the photo My claw doesn’t look all that razor sharp.  Frankly, I’m a little bit embarrassed.  If you’ll please excuse Me, I need to go scratch something to sharpen these claws up…possibly the couch.

Kitty Close-up #9

My Disciples,

It’s time for another image from My Kitty Close-ups photo series.  I won’t tell you what it is just yet, but I’ll give you a hint: These parts of Me were much rougher and dryer, and more cracked and pitted when I was wandering alone in the wilderness.

These are much softer and cleaner than they used to be. Can you guess what they are?

In case you didn’t already guess, they are My foot pads!  When the Guardians first swept Me up in The Capture, I remember one of them remarking on how rough and hard My foot pads felt compared to those of Brothers Henry and Oliver.  My pads still bear a few scars from My time in the shadows, but these days they are soft and supple from living the good life in The Promised Land.  I hope that all of your cats have soft and supple paws too!

Kitty Close-up #7

My Disciples,

Today I bring the the seventh installment in My Kitty Close-ups photo series.  This photo is…well…it’s…errr…hmmmmmm.  This picture actually doesn’t look like I had intended.  I thought I asked the Guardians to crop it so only My eyes were showing.  Blast the Guardians!  I should know better than to not double-check their work.  They are so good to Me I often forget they are only human.  Oh well.  I guess I will just show you the photo as it is since I don’t know how to use Photoshop to edit it Myself.  How embarrassing.

Kitty Close-up #4…and #5

My Disciples,

Ummm…I’m a little embarrassed by this, but today I am bringing you the next two photographs in My Kitty Close-ups series.  You see, after I created Kitty Close-up #4, I realized that I had overlooked something.  Well…let me just show you the shot and then you will see what I mean.

So, as you can see, Kitty Close-up #4 is a shot of my foot, but if you look closely, I think you can see a tiny bit of toejam in there.  I am so embarrassed!  Just so you know that I am one serious kitty when it comes to inter-tarsal hygiene, I decided it was necessary to include Kitty Close-up #5 right along with #4.  Here it is.

That's right, Kitty Close-up #5 really should have been done before #4.

There.  Now you can see that I’m really not the filthy-toed kitty that I appeared to be in Kitty Close-up #4.  I always say that “cleanliness is next to kitty-ness”, and I just wanted to make sure you know I practice what I preach.  Now, if you will excuse Me, I have some more grooming to attend to.

Kitty Close-up #3

My Disciples,

Today we continue with My Kitty Close-ups photo series.  With this image, I tried to capture what it must look like from My food bowl’s perspective when it is empty.  You can tell the bowl is empty because My mouth is closed and I do not look pleased.

For Kitty Close-up #4 I was going to get a photo of my teeth sinking into the soft, pink flesh on one of the Guardian’s calves as this is My customary way of expressing displeasure when My food bowl is empty.  Unfortunately, neither Guardian wanted to participate for some reason.  I think they must be camera shy.

This is what My empty food bowl sees. If the bowl was full, it would see an open, happy mouth...unless the eyes are on the bottom of the bowl...then it would just see kibble.

Kitty Close-up #2

My Disciples,

Today I am proud to bring you the second image in My new “Kitty Close-ups” photograph series.  I’ve heard people say that the eyes are the windows to the soul.  I’ve been looking at this photo closely for the past two days, and I’m not sure, but I think I see My soul in there.  Do you know if souls look like little, bright white dots?  If so, I definitely see Mine.

The Leader is watching...always...

Let this image always be a reminder that The Leader has His eye on you.  Be nice to kitties and keep them safe and He will keep you in His purrs.
