Mama Cat’s Anger Management Banana

My Disciples,

A few days ago, when I was acting as a mediator between Mama Cat and Brother Henry, I mentioned that maybe Mama Cat could find some way to help her manage her anger. Well, it’s almost like the Guardians can read My mind or something, because they have actually discovered an anger management tool for Mama Cat to use! And it’s a catnip banana.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this Myself because the nip nanners have always been very soothing to Me… OK… maybe a little too soothing. But the point is, it’s working for Mama. Whenever she gets angry with the Guardians or Brother Henry, the Guardians grab the nearest banana and offer it to Mama Cat. She eagerly accepts it.

When Mama Cat gets angry, she can’t wait to get her paws on her anger management banana.

Once she is in possession of the banana, Mama takes out all of her inner frustrations on the unfortunate, inanimate thing. First, she bites it while at the same time growling and complaining.

Mama Cat biting AMB

Mama Cat first bites the anger management banana while growling loudly.

Next, she rolls on he side and gives the anger management banana a furious pummeling with her hind feet.

Next Mama pummels the anger management banana with her hind feet.

Then, as quickly as it started, it is all over. Having released her anger into the banana, Mama returns to a calm, collected state.

Once Mama releases all of her anger into the banana, she is fine.

So it seems we have found the perfect anger management tool for Mama Cat. I always tried to tell The Brothers that catnip bananas have wonderful, medicinal properties, but they always took them away from Me anyway. Hmmmm… that kind of makes Me angry. Yep, My anger is now getting way out of control. I better go find the Guardians, perhaps if they see that I am having anger management issues, they will give Me some kind of tool that will help.

  1. What a beautiful shot of MC reaching out for the banana! The happiness in her face is priceless.

  2. Love these photos, especially that first one! We use the catnip bananas as a diversionary tactic frequently, to distract Papa from harassing his big sisters.

Hey not that banana addiction again Leader Otis……

  4. Where can I find a “nip nanner” for my cats?

  5. Bwwaaahahahaha. Way to go MC! You and Leader O have nip nanners in common

Brava! To Mama Cat! Finding a way to manage anger is a remarkable achievement. As for your own anger issues, Leader Otis? We feel the Guardians should provide you with anything that makes you happy, within reason. And the HuMom says she is sure they are giving you everything you request as long as it isn’t harmful. The photos of Mama Cat are wonderful, as are a majority of the photos shown here. HuMom wonders if you have considered offering them of exhibit or sale? They might bring in needed funds for feline health and maintenance. Just a thought.

    • Thanks M and H. I know the Guardians are working on several new things that might help spread The Good Word and bring in much needed kitty health and maintenance funds. Stay tuned. πŸ™‚

  9. what an absolutely brilliant idea! Your guardians are so smart.

Btw, I don’t want to alarm anyone over there, but I think you have a right to know. I saw this video on one of those morning “news” programs, where they talk about all sorts of not news stuff, so I don’t know how seriously to take this. well.. maybe you just need to see it and decide for yourself..

(I know Thomas has a thing about wiener dogs and this isn’t one, but maybe you should wait until he is out of the room before watching it)

  11. Wow, that first photo is just … wow. The smile on Mama Cat’s face — I’d say she looks almost human, only I’m afraid she wouldn’t take it as a compliment. πŸ™‚

  13. The first picture of Mama is very wonderful. She has come a long way from the bedraggled kitty she was to the beauty she truly is. I am going tell my mama to get me a banana it seems too niplishes to believe.

  14. I adore that first picture of Momma Cat! She looks so young and playful! She really goes to town on that nip nanner! Good for her!
You know, Otis, maybe your problem with the nip nanners is that you hold on to them too long.. see how fast Momma controlled her anger and let it go? Perhaps you should time that and use one only for that long yourself? Then maybe the brothers wont pick on you and take them away.

  15. What a smart way for Mama Cat to deal with her anger. We’re big fans of the nip nanner too.

  16. Mama Cat is looking so much better too – great to see her coat so smooth and well kept.
