My Disciples,
I have had a number of emails inquiring about My health status, so I just wanted to let you all know that I am hanging in there. As you’ve seen in recent blog posts, I do spend most of My time resting in boxes that the Guardians have strategically placed around the house. I am able to get from box to box under My own power though, and I even still make occasional trips up to Kitty Valhalla to spend the day with Sir Thomas. I also make regular trips to My food and water bowls, and to use the litter box. Life is certainly a lot more challenging than it used to be, but I am not in any pain and I still enjoy the love and attention of the Guardians and The Brothers.
I’m hanging in there and still finding much joy throughout My day.
The Guardians have made a lot of changes around here for Me, including a fancy new set of stairs that they built and placed next to the bed. Actually, they built a ramp first, but the slope proved pretty challenging for Me. With the stairs, I can take one at a time, and stop to rest if I need to. Actually, I sometimes sleep on them because I like the feel of the carpet.
The Guardians made Me a set of stairs to help Me get on and off the bed. I like to sleep on them sometimes.
The Guardians have also placed a litter box, a food bowl and a water bowl in the bedroom, so if I need any of those things in the night, I don’t have far to go.
So as difficult as things are right now, I really am hanging in there, and the Guardians are too. Regardless of My condition, I feel safe and loved, and I still purr often. And I thank you all for your kind words, purrs and continued concern. And I know the Guardians do too.

Dear Leader Otis, I am glad that you are doing well and praise your Guardians for their thoughtfulness. My purrs to you. My person and I are sad. My friend Bandit crossed the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly early Friday morning. She was 12 and hadn’t shown any sings of illness. Please send her your purs. Selleck and His Person, Emily.
Selleck, I am so very sorry to hear that Bandit has departed. We will purr for our dearly departed sister, and we are also all sending our warmest, strongest purrs and supportive thoughts to you and Emily during this difficult time.
Thanks for the update Otis!! It is encouraging to know you aren’t in any pain and just get tired more easily. We have been thinking of you and will be keeping all of you in our purrs. Continue to sleep anywhere you want because the reality is this is your world and us humans are just living in it. I think most kitties already know this right? We love you! Becca, Steve, Romeo & Juliet. P.S. Romeo wants to report that his trip to the bad place paid off. He survived his shot and has not puked for 11 days! He is very grateful to be feeling better.

We built a set of stairs when the GA kitty got arthritis and had a hard time getting up on the bed. When she passed the stairs went into the basement. When the next GA kitty got cancer and had a hard time getting on the bed they were brought back up.
I tell you this to let you know that I recognize the sleeping on the stair. It happened quite regularly when the stairs were up in the bedroom.. Not only by those who needed the stairs, but others as well. I am glad Leader Otis is getting to enjoy that pleasure.

Thanks for the update Otis! Miss P. loves to sleep on stairs too. We try to discourage it though, because we are afraid we might trip over her someday.
Fortunately, these stairs are for kitties only, so I can lay there secure in the knowledge that the Guardians won’t trip over Me. Actually, the bigger guardian doesn’t need any help falling down the stairs. He’s quite good at it on his own. 🙂
Dear Leader Otis, It is so good to hear you are doing so well in being pain free and still moving around. When it becomes apparent that the furry owners in this house need assistance to reach the bed I will definitely be making carpeted stairs. DoubleT is 13 this year but thankfully does not have any problems jumping right in the middle of me when I’m in bed. He also demands my pillow be surrendered when he is ready to sleep. Cotton is only 7 and Tween is 4 or 5. So glad and thankful they are all healthy. May your days left be many and continue without pain of any sort!!!! A big Thank You to your guardians for taking such care of you!!

I am glad to hear it my dear Leader, mew mean a lot to so many of us. I don’t know if mew saw it, but I posted a comment on mewz post telling us about mewz diagnosis, a few days after the fact. I wanted to give mew some info about something that may or may not help mew, that has helped many kitties and doggies with various conditions. I just wanted to bring it to mewz attention in case mew missed it.
Stay strong, stay true, and stay mew- the most thoughtful, compassionate, handsome Leader of all. Purrrrrrrrrrrrr!
