The Leader’s Test Results Are In

Disciples of Otis,

Brother Oliver here. I overheard the Guardians talking after a phone call came in yesterday, and it sounds like The Leader’s test results came back. The Guardians were a little frustrated because the people at The Bad Place said that the Myasthenia gravis titer was within the normal range. From what they were saying though, this disorder is sometimes difficult to definitively diagnose in cats, and the test results don’t necessarily mean that Leader Otis doesn’t have it. The Guardians are supposed to continue giving The Leader His current course of medications and report back to  The Bad Place in two to four weeks. In the meantime, Leader Otis is still hanging in there.

Otis hanging in there

The Guardians didn’t get the definitive answer they were hoping for in The Leader’s test results. The Leader continues to hang in there.

Now, since The Leader just started His full course of medications on Friday, it is still to early to tell if He is improving. Still, I think He might be doing just a tiny bit better. I mean, I hope it’s not just wishful thinking, but It seems like He has been sitting up at least a little bit more than He was before.

Otis sitting up

It may be wishful thinking, but I think The Leader might be sitting up a little more these days.

Also, I saw The Leader doing something yesterday that I haven’t seen Him do in a while. The Guardian had left his camera bag open, and Leader Otis took notice. I was so shocked at what I was seeing, I didn’t pay enough attention to the camera settings. So the photos I got were kinda blurry.

Cat Burglar 1

The Guardian left his camera bag open, and Leader Otis took an interest. He hasn’t done that in a while.

Leader Otis used to play cat burglar all the time, but since He has been feeling bad, He has lost interest. I really, really hope that His renewed interest in crime is a sign of improvement in His condition.

I hope this renewed interest in crime is a sign of good things to come for The Leader.

What made it even better was, when I asked Leader Otis if He had successfully stolen anything out of the camera bag He just said, “What camera bag, Brother Oliver? I’ve just been laying here all day. I’m amazed you would think I would try to steal anything.”

Innocent Otis

The Leader even played innocent after trying to steal from the camera bag.

So we don’t have a definitive answer, but we do have a plan of action. And The Leader’s spirit is still far from broken. I know the Guardians are doing all that they can for Him right now, and Brother Henry, Thomas and I are all keeping our paws crossed that The Leader starts to show some real improvement on this medication. If He stays the same or gets worse, I guess He has to go back to The Bad Place for more tests and something called an “Em-Are-Eye”. I don’t know what that is, but I hope The Leader doesn’t need it. It sounds kind of scary to me.

So Sayeth Brother Oliver

  1. In the meantime the bad place empties your guardians purse :-(. Big furry hugs Otis xxx

    • Yes, I have heard the Guardians mentioning money, but they were saying, “We will do whatever we have to do…” and “This is what credit cards are for…” It sounds like their pockets are getting emptier, but they care about Leader Otis far more than any money. And I know they feel the same about Brother Henry, Thomas and me too. – Brother Oliver

  2. Great news that he’s back to his old thieving ways 😉

  7. It is frustrating when those test results come back without a positive diagnosis. But we sure hope the medicines help the Leader and he doesn’t have to have any more tests.

  17. Poor Otis! Priestess Jen and Miss P. are purring that his recovery continues. By the way, what kind of camera do you use to take such beautiful cat pictures?

    • Thanks for the purrs Priestess Jen and Miss P! There are a couple cameras in the Guardians’ camera bag. Both of them have the word “Canon” on them. – Brother Oliver

  18. We are purring for you, Leader Otis. It’s good to hear that you’re feeling well enough to look inside the camera bag, but we want the mixed-up-gravies to be gone for good. We hope that the people at the bad place can find a diagnosis without a lot more poking and prodding tests.
