I’m Not Speaking to Brother Oliver

My Disciples,

I knew it! I knew I had heard a camera shutter and kitty laughter. I should have known Brother Oliver would be behind it. Of course, now that he posted that photo of Me, he is all nervous that I’m going to do something to get revenge. Not that I have a history of doing that or anything. Anyway, for now I’m just not speaking to Brother Oliver.

Otis not speaking to Oliver 1

I am currently not speaking to Brother Oliver.

It’s kind of funny, really, watching Brother Oliver hang around, sweating what I might do. I’m not sure he slept at all last night, but I’ve been sleeping very well. Again, I’m not saying I’m going to do anything to get Brother Oliver back or anything. Hmmmm… but I’m also not saying that I’m not.

I’m sleeping very well. Brother Oliver, not so much.

So who knows. Maybe I’ll do nothing, or maybe I’ll wait a month and do something when Brother Oliver least expects it. Nah, as The Leader, I should just set a good example and forgive and forget, right? Well, we’ll see…

Leader Otis, can you help me w/ a few questions please? Are the Brothers from the same cat family? They look so identical. How did they come to live w/ the Guardians? Where they there first or were you first? Does Thomas’ old family (if you can call them that) know that you have Thomas now? What happened to his fur siblings? I hope they are okay.

I’m sure the answers are on this blog….somewhere. But believe me, I’ve searched and searched and can’t find them. It seems silly to ask but this blog reads like a novel and I can’t help but feel like I’m missing some key parts. It’s a real page turner!

    • Yes, The Brothers are from the same litter. They truly are brothers. Their story has yet to be told in full on The Blog of Otis, but we shall remedy that in the not too distant future. The Brothers lived with the Guardians for two years before I came along. Some photos from their pre-Leader days can be found in the Blog. You can also find photos of when we first met one another.

Thomas’s old family disappeared in the middle of the night and left him in a pile of garbage. We have no idea where they are today, but we assume they haven’t given Thomas a second thought. Thomas’s brother Domino was picked up by a nice looking man who Domino seemed to trust. His other brother, Franklin, was rehomed by the Guardians.

I hope this helps answer some of your questions. Feel free to ask if you have any more and I will try to point you in the right direction. 🙂

Oh, thank you! I love the pics of the brothers when they were kittens. Brother Henry grew right into those ears and is such a handsome mancat today! I’m so glad that Thomas’ fur siblings are okay. I just kept picturing him hanging around in all that garbage waiting for them to come back for him and…well, I’m glad everyone is okay. I hope Domino is being taken care of wherever he is. For some reason I kept thinking Mama Cat was part of that crew too. She must belong to another neighbor though.

I have that problem here and I assume most decent pet people do too. Every irresponsible neighbors’ cat and dog hangs around for extra food, treats, attention, and medical care when needed. Unfortunately, the whole thing makes my cat very, very jealous. He is not as generous as leader Otis or the Brothers.

Thank you for taking care of so many cats and for creating this blog. My husband and I love reading it.

      • Thanks for all that you do for the animals in your area Heather! 🙂

  2. Revenge is a dish best served cold. However, you’re right, as the Leader, you probably shouldn’t.. But, letting him sweat it out waiting for the shoe to drop, so to speak, wouldn’t hurt either!

Well, about the whole example dealio: Yes, You are a Leader, dearest Otis, but remember: You are a Leader of Cats. And revenge is mother’s milk to us! We need to be shown how an expert does it. See, that’s where You come in. Right? Right.

  4. Haha! Brother Oliver will have to sleep with one eye open from now on.

  5. Sometimes a Great Leader knows a lesson must be taught, other times a Great Leader knows a lesson must be learned. Leader Otis? We don’t have any idea what this means, but we thought you might. Either way, it might make Brother Oliver even more nervous.

We’d like to thank Heather for asking that awesome question. We look forward to learning more about the Brothers story.
