Surprise Under Glass- Part I: The Discovery

Disciples of Otis,

Brother Oliver here. It all started when I stepped out into The Outdoor Domain of The Leader and made a strange discovery. A potted plant had appeared just outside the door, and for some reason it was under a glass dome!

Catnip Surprise 1

A potted plant had appeared in the Outdoor Domain. It was under a glass dome!

I moved in for a closer look and a sniff. I thought I smelled a faint whiff of something familiar (and exciting!), but the dome made an accurate identification of the plant impossible.

Catnip Surprise 2

I tried to sniff the plant, but the glass dome prevented an accurate ID.

I called to Leader Otis to come out and look at what I had found. He promptly appeared, and as He came near the plant I heard Him say, “What the?”

Catnip Surprise 3

I called Leader Otis out to investigate the plant with Me. He seemed puzzled by it too.

We looked at the plant from all different angles, but it became clear to us that we would not be able to progress any further with our investigation unless the glass dome was removed. Leader Otis began to yowl. I knew it would be only a matter of time before one of the Guardians appeared to do His bidding.

So Sayeth Brother Oliver

  1. Our HuMom keeps a similar plant on the windowsill for us. We all enjoy it very much. The Guardians are smart to protect the plant until it gets large enough to withstand a kitty attack. We think you’ll enjoy your new bit of greenery.

  2. Joy

    I bet it’s a catnip plant.

  3. Oooh. What is under the glass?

  4. Oh boy, anything under glass has got to be good! Can’t wait for those guardians to show up and explain this!

  5. Now boys…since the ‘dome of delight’ appears to be similar to the purrsonal assistants cake domes one can only assume it’s a treat! The recognizable serrated edge on the goodies within reek …(although scent not yet detected) of ‘The Nip’….interesting indeed 🙂

Huh. Maybe it’s a banana plant?

  7. Uh oh! Leader Otis, we see another nip hangover in your future.

  8. Miss P. wants to thank you for posting so many pictures of the Leader. Her vague resemblance to His Cuteness has earned her a lot of extra petting and nuzzles over the last few days. (Priestess Jen gets her share too.)
