Meeting Mama’s Needs Part III: Mission Accomplished

My Disciples,

When we left off yesterday, the Guardians had built a new structure that I called the Mama Snuggle Shack 3000. Mama had discovered the shack during the night, but I didn’t know whether or not she would like it. Well, Brother Oliver went out early this morning and discovered Mama sleeping underneath the Toastinator in the shack!

Brother Oliver went outside to find Mama sleeping in the snuggle shack!

It had rained during the night, but Mama, and everything else under the roof of the snuggle shack, was completely dry. Brother Oliver was so excited he called for Brother Henry to come outside and see.

Brother Oliver was so excited he called for Brother Henry to come outside and see.

When Brother Oliver yelled, he woke up Mama Cat. She wasn’t very happy about it as she had been napping away in toasty bliss.

Brother Oliver’s yelling woke up Mama Cat. She was a little annoyed.

Brother Henry came running out and looked at Mama Cat. He said, “Mama! How are you? Did you stay warm last night?” Mama replied, “Yes Brother Henry, and I am still nice and toasty. Do you mind if I go back to sleep now?”

Brother Henry asked Mama if she stayed warm in the night. She said “yes” and asked if she could go back to sleep.

Brothers Henry and Oliver both apologized for disturbing Mama, and told her that they would be sure to keep it down so she could get back to sleep.

The Brothers apologized and said they would keep it down.

So, it’s still a bit of a mystery how the Guardians knew what I wanted them to do, but they accomplished the mission of meeting Mama’s needs with flying colors. I think I need to reward them with a little extra snuggling tonight. It’s so weird though how they seemed to read My mind…. hmmmmm…. do you think they really can read My mind? Let’s see if they can, “Guardians, give more snacks to Otis… moooooore snaaaaaacks to Otis…..” Huh. Nothing. Maybe they’re not mind readers after all.

Brilliant, mama cat deserves to be warm and toasty

  3. I’m sad that Mama Cat is sleeping outside, but happy that she has a dry, warm place to do so.

  4. Thank goodness there are people like you looking out for our furry friends.

  5. Thank Ceiling Cat for the Guardians of Leader O! Mamma Cat is a previous ladycat and deserves a comfy and safe place to relax. Thank you Leader O and Guardians

  6. It is so nice to be reminded that there are Guardians like this out there.. Thank you.

  7. ok, so they may not be mind readers, but they are good guardians for figuring out how to help Momma….

  8. Neat or what?! Lucky Mama.

This is most excellent news. MamaCat looks very content under the Toastinator (which by the way I had envisioned as some heating-pad dealio but now I see is more like a French-fry warmer at Mickey D’s, ha ha meow! Now you boys keep it down and let a LadyCat get some sleep! XOXOXO to Your Guardians, Leader O. They done good (you know, for Humans and all).

  10. The Guardians are unreal Otis. They are beyond kind. You’re so lucky to have them. 🙂

  11. Our HuMom says that our boy/man has selective hearing. Perhaps the Guardians have selective mind-reading? Oh well, however it works, good job on keeping Mama Cat warm and dry during the night. She looked very relaxed in the Mama Snuggle Shack 3000. You should reward the Guardians, Leader Otis, for a job well done. You should be very proud of them both.

  12. I think this whole thing is just totally pawsome. What I would like to know is how is the toaster turned on? Motion sensor? Or do the humans just turn it on at night & leave it on till morning?

    • I think the Guardians have just been keeping the Toastinator turned on all the time, Stacy. Mama has been using it all night and intermittently throughout the day too! 🙂

  13. Look how sweet she is in her Snuggle Shack! Such a pretty girl!
Give it a little time, Otis, I bet you get those extra treats… Maybe the guardians just need a little time to realize that they’re hearing another Leader commandment.

  14. YAY, we are so glad it worked!!!

  15. Mama Cat looks so happy, Leader Otis. Your Guardians are the best. But we think they are selective mind readers. 😉

  16. Mama Cat looks very happy in the Snuggle Shack. Well, except for the “Do you *mind*, I’m sleeping here” look she gave to Brother Henry and Brother Oliver. MOL

Guardians are funny about reading minds when they want to and ignoring the brainwaves we send to try to fatten us up. We don’t exactly understand how that works, either, Leader Otis, but we have certainly noticed it at snack time!

I agree with the Island Cats, that the Guardians have selective mind reading. Sorta like Cats have selective hearing. ♥ So happy about the solution for Mama Cat’s needs.

  18. Linda

Great news! Mama Cat is so lucky to have the best guardians ever looking after her.

That was so very kind of your Guardians, Otis. They sure do give up a lot of their time and money to help other kitties. I know you boys are sacrificing too. Mama cat sure looks comfy! I know she appreciates being noticed and thought of by you all.

  20. thanks for the great pictures. Much reassured Mama will accept assistance.
(We draped a large towel across the arm under the “bed” and one down the back of a similar chair as a wind breaks for one skittish independent kitty who would not come close enough to a plug…eventually the kitty snuggled into the outdoor kitty condo with heated beds)
The toaster 3000 wins 5 stars top rating!
(RC is much relieved…she’s been worried)

  21. I am so pleased it was a success!

  22. Your Guardians are extremely perceptive and obviously “in tune” with you all…how awesome for Mama! 🙂
