Although Brother Henry was not completely satisfied with the way the training had gone, he decided to test what Thomas had learned about the Tabby Tower. He walked into living room and found Thomas lounging about near the tower. He said, “Oh my gosh! Thomas! Do you see that over there?” Only slightly interested, Thomas said, “Huh? See what?”
Brother Henry said, “You don’t see that? Hmmmmm… what is that? It looks like…OHMYGOSH! IT’S A WIENER DOG!” Thomas’s response was immediate.
With lightning speed Thomas bolted up the Tabby tower. I have never seen him move so fast. He did not slow down until he reached the highest observation platform. Once there, he peered down wide-eyed.
Brother Henry was very impressed with the speed of Thomas’s response. He let the kid off the hook, telling him, “Stand down, Junior Agent T! There is no threat. This was just a test, but you have passed with flying colors!” Thomas relaxed a little, but not all the way. He said, “Ok. Thanks Senior Agent H. Glad to know I passed. I think I’ll just stay up here for awhile if it’s all the same to you though…” Brother Henry said that it was. In fact, he said he would join Thomas and give him the final lesson of his tower training. He would teach him how to properly sit guard duty, and together they would keep watch throughout the night for any signs of LFDU activity.
