The Brothers’ Identity Challenge!

My Disciples,

Yesterday, as Brother Oliver was walking past one of the Guardians, the Guardian said, “Oh, hey Henry… ooops… sorry Oliver.” Brother Oliver, of course, took offense. He came straight to Brother Henry and Me and told us what had happened. He said he couldn’t understand how someone could possibly make such a mistake when clearly he and Brother Henry look nothing alike!

I tried to tell Brother Oliver that humans just aren’t as good at differentiating between cats as we are. After all, they have pitiful noses, so all they have to go on is what they can see. Brother Oliver was still upset, so I told him we should devise a test to see if humans really do have a hard time telling the difference between him and Brother Henry. I told him we would post a photo with him and Brother Henry sitting side by side, and then ask the Disciples of Otis if they can tell the difference. And that is what we will do. Take a close look at the photo below, and then cast your vote.

Identity Test

What do you think? Do you know which Brother is Oliver and which is Henry?

In a day or two I will tally the votes and we will settle this once and for all!

  1. Regardless of the results, they are two very handsome boys!

  2. What? Of course anyone could tell them apart! Ya just gotta sniff their butts!

They is totally different. Mommy says it is a human thing…she says when the human brothers was little, sometimes she would call them the cat or dog’s name or each other’s names.

  4. It’s photoshopped. Both the same cat.

  5. And that vote was a guess! We have recently added a fifth cat to the mix. This seems to have broken our brains as we constantly get all their names wrong, even calling a dog by a cat’s name now and again. There is obviously an optimum number of cats for each house before the human brain ceases to function correctly ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Brother Henry is clearly on the left. His white patch is broader and tails down further. Right? Or maybe it’s the other way ’round.

Or maybe those are PodCats from that Invasion of the Body Snatchers movie? You know, they steal the real Brothers and grown new ones in Pods in the basement. And say, You *do* have a basement, don’t You? Hmmm. You better have one of the Guardians check that out…or wait! Maybe they are PodPeople too! Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

That’s Brother Henry on the left–his white patch is broader and tails down further. Right? Or wait–maybe it’s the other way ’round?

Or wait–maybe those kitties is PodCats, like in Invasion of the Body Snatchers when they stole the real kitties and grew replacements in Pods in the basement….and say, You *do* have a basement, don’t You? Maybe you better have the Guardians check it out (well, make sure it’s the one that doesn’t fall down the stairs and damage himself). Or wait! Maybe they is PodPeople!

    Oh nooooooooooooooo!

  8. It’s all in the attitude – and the way one carries one’s self.. (this photo will give all paws? Scratch that…..)

  9. Joy

The Brother on the left has a fuller face. I think it’s Brother Henry.

  10. erph I crack under the pressure!

  11. Wow, put directly side by side, you can certainly see the differences! But seen one at a time.. someone might make a mistake.. once in a while… occasionally.. no?

  12. We took a stab at it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. Ever combined the cats’ names by accident? My mom did once. “Jenny” + “Precious” = “Preshy”, which is what I now call the smaller cat. Sorry Mom. I know you’d rather not be reminded, but I don’t like the name “Precious”. It’s just not her.

  14. I can see where humans get you two confused, but I am sympathetic to your plight. You boys just want to be recognized for the unique individuals you are. I know the feeling. I grew up with a sibling people could never seem to tell me from, despite the fact that we are very different people.

  15. I confess that I can only tell the brothers apart when they are sitting next to each other.

  17. You have to admit that in a quick glance might be easy to get confused. You both have such handsome, but similar, markings.
