My Disciples,
As you may recall, a couple weeks ago one of the Guardians took a tumble down the stairs. After that, the other Guardian decided to make the stairs safer, although we were a little confused about what she was doing at first. Anyway, the new, safer stairs are now complete! They have been painted with a sandy-textured paint that makes them a lot less slippery, so I am declaring today Non-slip Sunday!
Even though the new stairs are less slippery, I’m kinda worried that the clumsy Guardian might still find a way to slip on them. I think I should demonstrate how to properly walk on stairs so that the Guardian might learn to do so safely. I’m still limping quite a bit from My Hipsterectomy, so if I can safely walk these stairs, an unimpaired human should be able to do so as well.
Here’s hoping we make it through Non-slip Sunday, and all of the days that follow, with zero stair related injuries!
So Sayeth Otis
It looks like your making great progress Otis! Tumbling on stairs is scary. Our little ranch style doesn’t have any of those! 🙂 Hugs to you, brothers and Guardians!
Thanks Saymber! Hugs to you too. 🙂
Paws crossed that you’re running up and down those stairs in no time, Leader Otis! The Guardian should perhaps use a more sedate pace.
Thanks Katnip Lounge! The Guardians are now stretching My leg nightly because it is a little stiff. I think the exercises are helping though. 🙂
The stairs look great Leader Otis. The non-clumsy Guardian did an awesome job. We hope you and the less graceful Guardian are feeling better. HuMom says always be careful on the stairs. She broke her tailbone on some stairs at work several years ago. Yep, she busted her butt at work! It’s ok to laugh, she does….now.
Purrs to you!
Mistletoe & Hitch
A busted butt! Ouch! Purrs to you too M and H, and your HuMom. 🙂
You’ve got true grit, Otis!
Thanks Phil. Are you saying I take after the new stairs? 🙂
While there have been ups and downs, you always seem to take steps in the right direction! Stick to it Otis. Best wishes for the new year
You need one of those safety posters where you count the accident-free days!
I think you are right Rumpy. 😉
Very good demonstration! It’s so good to see you walking on them! I know you still have some recovery to do, but you’re looking good Otis! Hugs and snuggles!
Those stairs look good too! Nice job guardians!
Thanks Andrea! 🙂
Oh! Wow! Want to lend mes your guardian to makes our stairs less slippery? Me has a super clumsy guardian (Mommy) who falls down all the time!
Kisses
Nellie
Oh no! How are we going to teach these humans how to walk with out falling, Nellie?
It look´s like you are doing really well , Otis !
I´m glad to see that 🙂
Have a nice Non-slip Sunday !
Thanks Kjelle Bus! 🙂
I love the striped design! I’m sure that was your idea, Otis. Your Guardian did a wonderful job.
Thanks Christina. Actually, I wanted the stairs to have more of a tabby stripe. 🙂
Excellent demo, Leader Otis. We hope the Guardian was watching when you did that…and learns from you.
He was watching, Island Cats, but I’m not sure if he learned. It’s hard to teach an old Guardian new tricks. 🙂
Stairs look quite interesting. We don’t have them in here. There are some out in the hallway but I am not allowed out there to investigate. I am sure I would like them. So good to see you walking around–and on those stairs.
Teddy
Thanks Teddy. I didn’t have stairs at My old house, so it took a little getting used to when we first moved here. I really liked them before I developed Art Thritis, and I will probably like them again once My leg is back in shape.
Leader Otis! Tsk, tsk, tsk! You should know better than to assume that an unimpaired Human is anywhere near the equal of even a hipsterectomically-impaired kitteh! Even at Our most impaired, We can run both mental and physical circles around the Humans! And the Humans know it! They feed Us, they pet Us, they clean up Our poop!!! They do Our bidding! Just because You, Leader Otis, can safely navigate the stairs is far from convincing evidence that the Humans can do so without incident. You and the Brothers must remain vigilant in watching over them.
Believe Me I know, Spitty! We can’t leave these humans alone for one second!
Hey, hey, hey Leader O! Looking good on those stairs. But, I am kind’a wringing my paws with some worry that you still have quite a limp…purrlease do all the treat-ments and all the x-r-size the Guardians ask…and if they fall…well…they clearly did not follow your guidance (peeEss…Mom missed the last step on our stairs a few days ago…KABOOM! so the bipeds all seem to be very impaired)
Thanks Savannah. Yeah, I’m a little frustrated about My limp, but the Guardians are continuing to stretch My leg and encourage Me to move. I’m trying to listen to them, but, well, I am a cat afterall. 🙂 I hope your mom is Ok after her fall!
oh yeah, Mom’s pride was the injury! ummmm…Leader O…any prediction if you will get better as time goes on? Are you still in pain?…we are so worried…leaky eyes just thinking about you having pain still…sniff
