Valhalla Has Opened, Thomas Runs Free!

My Disciples,

I am so excited! The door to Kitty Valhalla now stands open! The Guardians have decided it is time for Thomas to have the run of the entire house. I can’t believe the day is finally here!

Valhalla Stands Open

Valhalla stands open. Thomas is free!

So far, Thomas has been a little bit hesitant to come out and explore. Just as the Guardians have hoped, Kitty Valhalla is now Thomas’s safey-safe, and anytime he feels threatened he retreats quickly up the stairs. But he did make the rounds downstairs last night under cover of darkness. He sat on the big cat tree in the front window and he also discovered our large basket of toys in the living room. This morning the Guardians found toys strewn all over the place. Best of all, Brother Henry has taken it upon himself to make Thomas feel welcome. He even let Thomas nap with him on the Sacred White Cloud of Eternal Comfiness yesterday! The Guardians tried to get a photo, but Thomas jumped up and sat next to the cloud before they could get the shot.

Thomas and Henry in Kitty Valhalla

Before this photo was taken, Thomas was snuggling with Brother Henry on the Sacred White Cloud!

So I’m happy to report that the integration of Thomas into The Cult of Otis is going great! Brother Oliver hasn’t even complained yet which is a minor miracle in and of itself. I’m sure Thomas will continue to blossom now that he has a whole new world to explore. Unlike the world he was forced to live in for the first year of his life, this new world is filled only with safe enrichment, love and caring. By the end of his second year, he is going to be a whole new kitty.

Thomas is so handsome. And is it just me or is he looking more svelte these days?

  2. That is super news, Thomas πŸ˜€

I needed some happy news today and this qualifies! Blessings on everyone for making this possible, and for Thomas for having the courage to start to trust.

Hurray Thomas! And cheers to you all for making Thomas’s transition to indoor living a comfortable one. Being accepted by your fellow felines is so important in helping to show your true self.

  5. Thomas is just about as fortunate as any cat could ever be…living with you Leader Otis and looked out for by Brothers Henry and Oliver, purrfect…oh yeah, and the Guardians are pretty OK too

  6. Kitty Valhalla seems great! Is it closed off to give Brother Thomas the run of the upper area?

    • It was closed off to give Thomas his own territory while he adjusted to his new, indoor life. It also allowed Me and The Brothers to see and smell him whenever we wanted without having unsupervised direct contact (so we could all get used to the idea of living together). Now that Thomas sees Valhalla as a safe place to which he can retreat, it gives him a home base from which to explore the rest of the house. If anything makes him nervous, he runs straight back upstairs to safety. πŸ™‚
