My Disciples,
Yesterday afternoon the Guardians let The Brothers and I have access to our Outdoor Domain. After soaking up a bit of fresh air in our safe and secure “catio”, we went inside to grab a snack. A few moments after we left the Outdoor Domain, I heard a voice outside say, “Hello? Leader Otis? Are you there?” I went back outside to discover Mama Cat peering in through the wire.
Mama Cat seemed very serious about something, so I asked if I could be of assistance. She said, “Well…Cookie told me that last year you guys held the First Annual Cult of Otis Catlympics in your Indoor Domain.” I told her that this was indeed true, and that Brother Henry had scored a stunning victory in the games. Mama Cat then said, “Ummmm…I wanted to tell you that it has been my lifelong dream to become a Catlympic cathlete. I also wanted to ask you if there is any way I could possibly compete in this year’s Catlympics?”
I was very touched by Mama Cat’s passion for the games, but I knew I should consult the rest of the Catlympic committee (Brothers Henry and Oliver) before making My decision. I told Mama cat that I would need to hold a meeting, but I would get back to her with an answer very soon. She became visibly excited at this news and said, “Thank you! Thank you, Leader Otis, for even considering it!” She then jumped up onto the cement wall that separates her yard from ours and plopped herself down. She said, “I will await your decision here!”
I told her that I would be back as soon as I could, but that these meetings sometimes take a while. I said I would send the Guardians out with some fresh catnip to help her pass the time. She thanked Me again and, after I yowled loudly for the Guardians to bring out the catnip, I headed inside to consult with My fellow Catlympic Committee members.
So Sayeth Otis
Aw, momma kitty is so pretty. I hope you let her in the games!
Time will tell Andrea. 🙂
I hope the answer is yes!
