I am sad to report that yet another of My feline brothers has joined the ranks of the missing. This time it is a ginger tabby cat named Hendo, and he has been missing since December 4th.
So many of these posters give a street intersection at which the lost cat was last seen. I have only seen one, maybe two that have indicated that the lost kitty escaped from a house or other safe confinement. The simple, concrete, directly observable fact is that cats who are allowed to roam free are FAR more likely to disappear than cats who are safely confined. Why is that knowledge alone not enough to convince someone who presumably cares about their kitty’s welfare to come up with a safe confinement plan? I know I’m only a kitty Myself, but I just don’t understand why so many humans resist the idea of safe boundaries so adamantly. If you happen to be one of those people, I would love to hear your reasoning.
But this post is really about Hendo. For him the worst case scenario has already come to pass. Please purr with Me, My Disciples, that Hendo’s story will yet have a happy ending. Purr with Me that he is someplace warm and safe, and under the watchful care of true cat Guardians that will give him the love, enrichment and safe boundaries that he desperately needs.
