Brother Oliver Is Depressed

My Disciples,

Brother Oliver is having a rough time right now.  Two days ago Brother Henry, bursting with excitement, came running up to Brother Oliver.  He said he had been messing around with the camera and wanted to show Brother Oliver a photo that he had taken.  The photo that Brother Henry took can be seen below.

A sharp close-up of Mama Cat

This is the photo that Brother Henry took and then shared with Brother Oliver.

Upon viewing the photo, Brother Oliver gasped and then walked away with his head hung low.  Brother Henry tried to follow him saying he had some important information that he wanted to share but Brother Oliver just ignored him.  He has been moping ever since.  I think he feels like Brother Henry’s photo was so good that now he will never be able to fulfill his dream of becoming the world’s greatest kitty photographer.

Oliver moping.

Brother Oliver has been moping because he thinks Brother Henry has surpassed him as a photographer.

I must admit, Brother Henry’s image is surprisingly good.  I can really see Mama cat in it, and there are no bars blocking My view of her like in Brother Oliver’s photos.  But I wonder what else Brother Henry wanted to share with Brother Oliver.  I think I shall go seek out Brother H and ask him a few questions.  I think there might be more to this story than meets the eye.

  1. Dear Brother Oliver,
don’t be depressed because another kitty is good at a different style of photography to you. Brother Henry has taken an excellent portrait, but your style is more abstract and arty. You can still aspire to be the best kitty at abstract photography! Don’t give up in the face of adversity, all great artists have to suffer a bit for their art and not everyone understands abstract art.

    Dear Brother Henry,
your portrait is very good, please don’t think I don’t like it just because I am encouraging Brother Oliver! It’s good that you can both explore different styles of photography and aspire to excellence in your own field, especially through sharing what you can learn from each other. Nice work 🙂
